North Staffs Irrigation sort problem-pitch in Kent
6 June 2003
North Staffs Irrigation has recently completed its first drainage contract
for Ashford Borough Council in Kent.
The installation of a drainage system at Hythe Road Recreation Ground was concentrated
on a problematic football pitch, which was frequently waterlogged.
100mm drainage pipe was laid in a horseshoe around the perimeter with two outlets
to a local ditch. Lateral drains were then placed at 10 metre centres, backfilled
with aggregate with semi-permeable membrane and bisected at one-metre centres
with lytag banding.
Contracts Officer for the Council David Lloyd said that he hoped the drainage
problems had been resolved and praised the company for its high level of service.
