North Staffs Irrigation help prepare for memorable Open
return
24 February 2003
Following the announcement that the Open Championship will be held at Royal
Liverpool in 2006, North Staffs Irrigation have been awarded the contract to
install irrigation to some newly built tees and some new mains pipework at
the Club in Hoylake on the Wirral.
Work begins on site in February to provide irrigation to the repositioned tees
on the 16th and 18th and mains pipework on the surrounds of the greens on the
10th and 12th to accommodate a new service track.
The work, overseen by Links Manager Derek Green, is the last of the projects
that have taken place at the course in preparation for the Championship. North
Staffs Irrigation have worked with the Club for the last 5 years and have completed
major alterations there over the past two years including installing a new
system to the recently completed practice area at the adjacent Hoylake Municipal
Golf Club.
Company director Martin Hinchliffe said that they were proud to once again
be part of the preparations for a major championship: "We're delighted
to be involved with the Club at such an exciting time."
