QPR staff hold the passport to safety
10 February 2003
Staff at QPR, (Quarry Plant & Roadsprays) had their knowledge of health
& safety at work put to the test recently when they took part in a training
course to enable them to hold the SPA quarry industry safety passport.
The training took place at the firm's premises at Stone, Staffordshire and
all participants passed the two-day course and written assessment.
All staff will now be issued with a photocard that's valid for three years
which allows them access to controlled work environments. The passport, which
is backed by EPIC, is recognised nationally throughout the UK by leading industry
employers and has also been welcomed by the Health & Safety Executive as
a way of improving health and safety and environmental protection.
QPR Managing Director Roger Hinchliffe commented: "The safety of our staff
and the people we work with is of paramount importance to us. I hope that through
this company-wide training we have further demonstrated this ongoing commitment
to working safely to our staff and clients."
